The American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, MD, stands as a beacon of creativity and individual expression. Unlike traditional art institutions, AVAM celebrates "outsider art" and self-taught artists, showcasing works that defy conventional artistic norms. Exhibits 

The American Visionary Art Museum is unlike any other museum you have visited. It features a delightful collection of art. The museum has a permanent collection that is on display, in addition to rotating exhibits. The art on display includes photography, paint, prints, and sculptures.

The Sideshow 

In addition to the art museum, there is the Sideshow. It will be the most fantastical and intriguing gift shop you have ever experienced. It is jam-packed with art, trinkets, oddities, and souvenirs that you can take home with you. You can visit the store without purchasing a ticket to the museum. 

Experiences

The museum also acts as an events space, making it the perfect place to plan your next event. The Jim Rouse Visionary Center can seat up to 400 for dinner and dancing. The Sculpture Barn and Garden can accommodate up to 130 seated guests and 250 guests for cocktails. Finally, the Museum Cafe is a restaurant on the museum's top floor. It can host up to 50 for dinner or 110 for a standing cocktail.

How to Visit

Located in the heart of Baltimore, getting to the museum is easy by car, public transportation, or water taxi. You must purchase tickets in advance online. Tickets range in price from $9.95 to $15.95. Children under six are free. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.

We do our best to get you into your room upon arrival, but we cannot guarantee you will be able to check in before 04:00 PM. We want your room to be perfect for you so our housekeeping team needs time to make that happen.

Please ask the property front desk for more details on late check out. We can sometimes give an extra hour or two but cannot guarantee it. Anything beyond 01:00 PM will incur additional charges.

We require a commitment for the full length of stay based on the booked arrival and departure dates. In the event that you depart early, we do not often have enough time to rebook the room so we do typically charge. Please discuss with our front desk in the event that your travel plans change during your trip.

Yes! We love pets! In the interest of the security and safety of all our guests, we do not allow pets above 40 lbs. We only allow dogs and cats. We charge a cleaning fee up to $350 pet for all pets (depending on length of stay).
