Take a walk through history by strolling the promenade at Fells Point. Located in the heart of Baltimore, this waterside neighborhood is one of the oldest in the city. Today, it has seen a revitalization. However, it still holds on to its historical roots. 

History

Founded in the 1700s, Fells Point was a mariner’s neighborhood. The dock workers and sailors would live here for easy access to the harbor. The streets are cobblestone with stone brought from Europe.

Sites

There are over 300 Fells Point buildings on the National Register. One that you shouldn’t miss is the oldest standing residence in Baltimore, the Robert Long House. There is also the Broadway Market, an indoor market established in 1786. Finally, visit the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum. It is the first African-owned shipyard in the country. 

Dining and Entertainment 

Shopping and dining options are plentiful throughout Fells Point. You’ll find plenty of quirky boutiques and shops. Taste the freshest seafood you will ever eat at one of the many restaurants. At the end of the day, stop in one of the bars and enjoy a cocktail. The Horse You Came In On Saloon is a famous haunt established in 1775. It was known to be a favorite of Edgar Allan Poe. 

Festivals 

Several festivals take place in Fells Point throughout the year. Most notably, there is the Fells Point Privateer Festival. It celebrates Baltimore’s maritime history. There is the Fells Point Fun Festival. This festival has taken place for five decades. It is a fundraiser to protect the historical significance of Baltimore. Finally, there is the Fells Point Olde Tyme Christmas Festival. 

How to Visit 

Visiting Fells Point is easy, as it is centrally located on the harbor. It is next to the Inner Harbor area. You could drive or take public transportation to get there. Then, stroll down the cobblestone streets and enjoy the lively promenade.

We do our best to get you into your room upon arrival, but we cannot guarantee you will be able to check in before 04:00 PM. We want your room to be perfect for you so our housekeeping team needs time to make that happen.

Please ask the property front desk for more details on late check out. We can sometimes give an extra hour or two but cannot guarantee it. Anything beyond 01:00 PM will incur additional charges.

We require a commitment for the full length of stay based on the booked arrival and departure dates. In the event that you depart early, we do not often have enough time to rebook the room so we do typically charge.
