History

The Fox Theatre opened in 1928 as the flagship location for the Fox Theatre Chain. Designed by Charles Howard Crane, it was the second-largest theatre in the world at the time. It has undergone several renovations over the decades, making it the largest surviving theater from the 1920s. In 1985, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. In 1989 it was named a National Historic Landmark.
