Finally, experience life in America in the 1800s in the Working Farms, Liberty Craftworks, Main Street, and Porches and Parlors Districts.
Demonstrations
Check the daily schedule when you arrive so you don’t miss the demonstrations you’re most interested in. Skilled artisans present demonstrations with in-depth explanations and insights. Some of the demonstrations you can experience include glassblowing, farming, printing, weaving, engineering, and pottery.
Rides
The Greenfield Village is perfect for the entire family. There are several rides that visitors of all ages can take part in. The little ones will love the Village Playground and the carousel. The whole family could experience a ride in one of the first cars with, the Model T ride. Or slow things down with a ride on the horse-drawn omnibus shuttle.
Shopping
Bring a piece of American history home by purchasing one of the many shops. The Main Street Emporium has a little of everything, from historic souvenirs to toys. Everything is themed to resemble items from early America. The Liberty Craftworks store has an impressive selection of hand-crafted goods. This is the perfect place to bring home a souvenir commemorating the artistry you experienced at Liberty Craftworks. The Greenfield Village Store boasts a vast collection of gifts that reflect the American experience.
Dining
There are plenty of dining options throughout the Greenfield Village. From snacks and sweet treats to full, homecooked traditional meals, you will surely find something to delight your tastebuds. For those with a sweet tooth, stop by the Frozen Custard stand, Sir John Bennett Sweet Shop, or Carousel Confections. If you’re looking for a light lunch or quick bite, try the Owl Night Lunch Wagon, State Street Lunch Stand, or Tea at Cotswold Cottage. If you need something more substantial, nothing beats a traditionally prepared meal from Mrs. Fisher’s Southern Cooking or A Taste of History.
