Animal Habitats 

The zoo features Florida, Africa, Asia, and Australia animal exhibits. There is also a primate habitat. Over 1,000 animals call the zoo home, making for a full day to see every one of them. When you’re ready for a break, stop by Manatee Circle. You will find the gift shop, stroller rental, photo booth, and restaurant here.  

Animal Encounters

In addition to the animal exhibits, you can upgrade your visit to include animal encounters. Get up close and personal with a giant tortoise, manatee, rhino, elephant, giraffe, koala, penguin, or lorikeet. Experienced animal caretakers will teach you about the animals and their required care.

Attractions

In addition to the animal exhibits, you will find several attractions throughout the zoo. For example, there is the Roaring Springs ride, face painting, themed cafes, Tasmanian Tiger Coaster, Overland Express Train, Koala Clubhouse, and Carousel. The animal care team also host chats, mingles, and shows for an interactive experience throughout the day.

How to visit

The zoo is located in the heart of Tampa. It is open every day of the week from 9:30am to 5pm. It is closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas. There are also special extended-hour days that happen throughout the year. 

Tickets are available for purchase online or at the entrance. Children ages 3-11 are $35.95, and anyone 12 and older is $45.95. There are also membership tickets available that come with free unlimited admission for a year. (Prices may vary - please check the website.)
